A look at the epic new sci-fi blockbuster from the director of District 9 starring Matt Damon. It's 2154 and the polluted world's poor cling to existence in teeming shanty towns under the glare of the sun. High above them, the orbiting space station Elysium is the air-conditioned home to the super-rich, a verdant Bel Air of plenty. When petty criminal and factory drone Max (Matt Damon) suffers a lethal dose of radiation in a works accident, he is determined to reach the other world to find a cure. District 9 director Neill Blomkamp works from a broader canvas in a visually glorious sci-fi thriller that asks pertinent questions about corporate corruption and the poverty gap.

It\'s not the most complex plot-line ever, but a ton of action films are held together on flimsier premises, and do far less with what they have.$
