Little House on the Prairie: When Laura is playing along the creek, she finds a bottle with a note that simply reads "Be my friend." Laura begins searching for new bottles on a regular basis, and one day she and Charles are stunned to find a baby at the foot of the water. Upon bringing the little girl home with them, Laura cares for the infant as her own and grows increasingly attached, while Charles seeks out the biological parents. As the Ingalls soon discover, the mother is a young teenage girl who, after concealing her pregnancy and delivering the baby herself, is terrified to reveal the truth to her boyfriend and overbearing father.
