Little House on the Prairie: The Ingalls grow increasingly miserable with the rough, boisterous, and unfriendly atmosphere in Winoka. Charles refuses to entertain any idea of separating the family from Mary, but after having a heart-to-heart with his beloved oldest daughter, he realizes that his decisions have not been in the best interest of anyone involved. Meanwhile, Toby Noe--a kindly old man who strikes gold in the lottery--purchases a $100 supply of fireworks for the school children's 4th of July celebration. The naive Toby meets an unfortunate demise, however, when the cold-hearted and immoral Mr. Standish cons him into gambling away every penny. After enduring months of discomfort and emotional hardship, the Ingalls, Garvey, and Oleson families all finally agree to leave Winoka behind and attempt a fresh start in their beloved Walnut Grove.
